Announcing The Carbon Removal Show Coalition
Dear listeners, friends, fans and foes (you know what they say. Keep your friends close…)
It’s hard not to feel a sense of urgency these days. As the climate crisis escalates, the conversation around solutions is evolving fast—none more so than carbon dioxide removal (we may be slightly biased here). It’s not only about discovering new ways to pull carbon out of the air; it's about scaling these solutions responsibly and making sure as many people as possible are learning about and engaging with them.
That’s why we’re thrilled to announce some big news. After three years and three seasons of The Carbon Removal Show podcast, we’ve officially launched a coalition to fund and support the continued mission of the podcast, helping us drive transparency, growth, and real impact in the carbon removal sector.
The Carbon Removal Show has always aimed to bridge the gap between the CDR industry and the wider public. With well over 100,000 downloads and contributions from more than 60 experts, we’ve created a space where complex topics are broken down, making carbon removal accessible to both insiders and anyone interested in rebalancing our climate. But we’ve realised the need to go further.
That’s where the new coalition comes in.
We’re bringing together some of the most forward-thinking individuals and organisations in carbon removal to tackle the biggest challenges CDR faces today. Together, we’re committed to making the industry more transparent, helping grow the buyer market for carbon removal, and educating people on why CDR is so essential for achieving net zero, with the help of our podcast.
Current founding members include: Carbon Gap, CarbonX, Klarna, MASH Makes, Milkywire, the Negative Emissions Platform, Opna, Patch, Planboo, ReCarber, Sebastian Manhart, Standard Gas Technologies and Supercritical.
For us, this coalition represents a huge step forward. We’ve always known that CDR isn’t just about the tech; it’s about trust. People need to believe that the solutions being worked on are safe, scalable, and impactful. The coalition’s mission is to foster that trust, not just within the industry but with everyone—policy makers, business leaders, and wider publics.
The coalition is also a call to action. We’re actively inviting new members to join us—whether you’re an organisation working directly in CDR, a business looking to support the growth of the industry, or even an individual who believes in the power of carbon removal to address the climate crisis. Now is as better a time as ever to help shape the future of this vital sector.
